Zenvo Automotive at the Geneva International Motor Show 2017

Zenvo will be attending the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show to begin the celebration of the company’s 10th Anniversary.

This is a major milestone for the company having achieved major steps forward during 2016 and the achievement is being commemorated in a unique one-off TS1 GT.

Zenvo Automotive are proud to present our Anniversary TS1 GT celebrating 10 years of the company at the 87th Geneva International Motor Show 2017.

The car is a unique, one-off, bespoke TS1 GT which has been built specifically to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the company.  Zenvo has specified and built the car to reflect the heritage of the company and its founders from Denmark.  This historic TS1 GT has been named ‘Sleipnir’ [pronounced: “Sleep-near”] after the eight-legged horse ridden by Odin, the King of the Norse gods in ancient Scandinavian mythology.  Sleipnir was ‘the fastest and best horse among gods and men.

The recognition of the heritage of Scandinavia and its historical significance does not stop there.  This very special TS1 GT has been painted in ‘Fjord Blue’ and highlighted by copper-bronze strips on the hood and roof of the car which are set into the bare carbon-fibre panels as well as contrasting copper highlights both inside and outside of the car.  The use of copper-bronze recognizes the technological advancements by ancient Danes in exploration, trading and commerce extending from North America to Russia and the Middle East.  In the pre-history of Scandinavia, Bronze was the most advanced material available.  It was used in multiple applications including the design and building of chariots.  Bronze was the carbon-fibre of its age and provided a technical advancement which allowed the unparalleled growth of the Vikings and the Scandinavian region.

The application of advanced technology within the region continues with the production of some of the most technically advanced hypercars in the world.  Using extensive lightweight carbon-fibre and other hybrid composite materials as well as a unique proprietary drivetrain with ultra-fast advanced gear-shift, traction control and ESC technology, the quality of Zenvo engineering and the precision quality of production are the worthy successors of our innovative ancestors.

Presenting this car at Geneva and celebrating our tenth anniversary makes me very proud and humble”, said Troels Vollertsen, Technical Director and Founder of Zenvo Automotive A/S.  “We have achieved so much with a small team of highly dedicated and capable individuals.  All of us recognize our heritage as pioneers of technology and remain totally committed to continue to produce and develop Zenvo cars which provide our owners and drivers with a sensational experience of performance, quality and perfect driving pleasure which is the DNA of our brand and our cars.  We look forward with great excitement to the next ten years.”

The TS1 GT is a technical tour-de-force and our Hyper GT.  Using Zenvo’s extraordinary 1,163bhp engine with twin superchargers, the TS1 GT incorporates a newly developed gearbox with Zenvo ultrafast gearshifts that change gears at speeds not far off a Formula 1 car.  The entire shift system and linked engine management software were designed in-house at Zenvo, The TS1 GT is the most awesome Grand Tourer capable of a limited top speed of 375kph and a 0-100kph of only 2.8 seconds but providing the most effortless and luxurious cruising comfort that can only be experienced in a Zenvo TS1 GT.

The interior is completely original with an asymmetrical design leather and carbon fibre.  Switches and instrument surrounds are in copper and rhodium with these parts alone costing the same as a Porsche 911R.  Every single part is individually handmade and hand finished over nearly 8,000 man hours.  There are no materials which could give the impression that this car is anything other than totally bespoke, a masterpiece of quality, detail and engineering made to measure, literally, for the customer.

This last year has seen a huge amount of investment in testing both the TS1 GT and the TSR.  We chose to use the TSR as the workhorse and it has been worked very hard indeed.  We will shortly have completed a 12-month programme of punishing testing on the TSR launched at Geneva International Motorshow in 2016.

“The main testing mule for our cars has been our yellow TSR which actually uses the same drive train, major components and electronic systems as the TS1 GT so we’ve used it as the development car for both models” said Troels Vollertsen, Technical Director of Zenvo Automotive.

“It’s been an obvious choice for testing because it’s a car that can be run both hard on the track with high downforce and on roads - but we also took the car to the Arctic Circle for extensive winter testing and the development of new traction control and ESC systems which was deliberately very tough.”

The test car is being presented at the Geneva International Motor Show 2017 in the exact condition that it will have completed its test programme when we’ve driven it from Denmark the day before the show

“We are committed to the Geneva show but we also have to stick to our testing schedule,” continued Vollertsen, “so we are driving the car to Geneva as part of its test work programme and we make no apologies for its condition.  We think it’s important for our customers to see that hypercars, and especially our cars, are tested as strenuously as any other car.  The TS1 GT or TSR may be highly powerful thoroughbreds and we don’t expect our owners to leave their cars outside overnight in -30°C or drive it on a dirty German Autobahn in February but they might, so we have to test it.”

The TSR being presented at Geneva has now completed more than 100,000kms of hard testing over the past year to ensure durability, engineering quality standards and to validate new technology.

“Engineering validation as well as quality and reliability of technology are all extremely important areas for our brand, our cars and obviously, our customers. These are all the vital elements which make up the extraordinarily unique DNA of Zenvo.” commented Nigel Gordon-Stewart, Commercial Director of Zenvo Automotive.

All testing programmes are highly intensive as Zenvo is primarily an advanced engineering company producing works of high performance automotive art for their clients.  In developing the new TS1 and TSR, the company has invested significantly in testing and evaluating every component in multiple environments and operational circumstances and that means testing, testing and more testing.

The Spring of 2017 will see the TSR being developed more intensively focused on its planned track use including extensive collaborative testing with new motorsport engineering partners.

And talking of motorsport engineering partners, Geneva will see the announcement of an exciting new partnership.  Zenvo Automotive are extremely excited to announce a major strategic partnership with Swiss watchmaker Rebellion Timepieces at the 87th Geneva International Motor Show 2017.  The partnership also extends into an engineering collaboration with Rebellion Racing which will include shared engineering development and technology capabilities, data and testing.

Rebellion Timepieces is a Swiss manufacturer of high precision watches inspired by the ultra-competitive world of motorsports.  Rebellion Racing competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship and is the only race team to be owned by a watch company.   Both Zenvo and Rebellion are driven by a desire to produce highly customizable, limited edition products made with the best automotive technologies, innovation and human attention to detail.

Cementing the partnership, Rebellion Timepieces will display a unique Rebellion-Zenvo Predator 2.0 GMT on the Zenvo stand 1245 at the Geneva International Motor Show from 9th – 19th March in the Palexpo convention centre.  Zenvo Automotive will also exhibit the Rebellion Racing LMP1 R1 racing car from 2016 in Zenvo branding on their stand.

Nigel Gordon-Stewart, Global Commercial Director of Zenvo Automotive: “We are really thrilled about this partnership with Rebellion.  I have known Rebellion Timepieces and Rebellion Racing for some time.  I’ve admired their brand, their premium watches and their ability to just get out there and take on the big boys on the track.  Their watch mechanics are really impressive and we are looking forward to utilizing their savoir-faire to provide our cars with very high-precision clocks and timing equipment.”

Philippe Dubois, CEO of Rebellion Timepieces: “I have got to know Nigel and Zenvo as a company very well over the previous months.  Both our organizations have a lot in common, not least that this is the 10th anniversary year for both companies.  I am very impressed by the quality of engineering and design intelligence at Zenvo and think that they will be a huge asset to the watch side as well as to our sister company Rebellion Racing.

This is no ordinary branding exercise with a watch company” continued Gordon-Stewart.  “Rebellion are one of the most exciting and dynamic brands as watchmakers and they have been extremely successful in motorsport.  There are a great number of similarities between the companies and we clearly share a synergistic philosophy of passion and enthusiasm for our brands.  Zenvo is currently developing its future business planning and this includes working very closely with Rebellion which we’re really looking forward to.”

Zenvo Automotive has moved into a new factory in 2016 and is well advanced in a major expansion programme recruiting new engineers and personnel to satisfy the demands of the business.  2017 is looking like a very exciting year with a great future ahead of further growth and technical development.

Nigel Gordon-Stewart, Commercial Director: “Zenvo has become a family this year.  Under the leadership of founder and Chief Technical Officer Troels Vollertsen, the company has embraced a transformation to new levels of product innovation, style, engineering and quality.  As the company now looks towards the future a new partner has joined us providing Zenvo with the ‘competitive edge’ and the opportunity to prove our engineering skills on the track.  The future looks very exciting and in a Zenvo, it arrives very quickly indeed.”
